Mount Auburn Hospital, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital founded in 1866 as the first hospital in Cambridge (originally known as Cambridge Hospital).

This historic facility had four main project goals:

1. Increase capacity of high-purity water
2. Adhere to stringent spatial constraints and vertical height limitations
   for the installation of new RO equipment
3. Decrease cycle times of the surgical sterilization equipment
4. Eliminate the cost, space and maintenance of a water softener
   for RO pre-treatment

RESULTS

When the current water treatment company could not design an RO system to meet the increased demand and limited space constraints, Mount Auburn Hospital turned to EasyWater for a customized solution. Since installing the EasyWater SmartGuard SG-30K, the hospital has reduced cart washing cycles from 33 minutes to 20 minutes, effectively eliminating the bottleneck in their daily sterilizing operations. Ricker Oil is an Indiana-based, high-end c-store chain that was fighting to maintain top-quality fountain and coffee service while battling the hard water of the Midwest. Lime scale build-up plagued ice machines and coffee brewers, resulting in costly maintenance.

Discovery:
